Boho dĂ©cor has pretty much always been a thing. Like always. However, we have definitely noticed that in the past two to three years it has become a very trendy/common dĂ©cor style. If you read our last blog (please go read if you haven’t💕) we discussed bohemian fashion and it’s different subcategories. Well guess what?!? Boho dĂ©cor has subcategories as well.

There is modern bohemian (the most common), boho rustic, afro-bohemian, and boho glam. Modern bohemian combines sleek lines with different textures. You’d start with a neutral base like white walls or light colored woods and add boho elements. Textures are added through pieces like throw pillows, rugs, tapestries, etc. Next up, boho rustic is all in the name. It pairs classic boho elements like neutral palettes with rustic accents such as linen, wooden crates and exposed brick. Wooden crates have so many uses! Storage, wall art, a bed platform. The possibilities are truly endless. After that we have afro-bohemian. In this style we see things like rattan and wicker with added elements of African patterns like mud cloth, African wall baskets, and other pieces and fabrics from the Motherland. Our final style in the category is boho glam. Boho glam is the perfect look for our divas who love bling and glamour with a dash of eccentricity. Characterized by touches of opulence with an added tropical flair, boho glam has become crazy popular with its mix of jewel tones and natural textures.

One theme that seems to be common in each style is greenery/plants. To help choose the boho dĂ©cor style that is most you, we’ve attached some photos of each. Or if you’re like many, multiple styles may resonate with you. In this case you can always combine them to create your space. Whichever or whatever you choose is up to you #bohobabe !
Pinterest has become a go-to site for decorating inspiration. Almost every dĂ©cor idea I implemented in my room was inspired by Pinterest as well as some boho hashtags I’ve seen on Instagram. So if you ever get stuck you can depend on either platform to help you.

One thing about creating a boho inspired space is that you can add little accents to what you already have. If you’re on a tight budget or just don’t want to spend too much money, adding small pieces like low cost boho-inspired artwork, wicker baskets and fake plants are a great start! Stores like Ross, Burlington, Home Goods & Walmart are full of nice, affordable pieces that will add the boho flair you’re looking for. And! If you don’t mind used or vintage furniture or other accents, try sites like Mercari, eBay, Offer Up and Facebook Marketplace. As a precaution, always be careful if you’re meeting up with someone to pick up a purchase. Take a trusted person with you and keep a watchful eye. People can be strange.

On a lighter note, I transformed my own space into a bohemian oasis. My old bedroom (pre-college) was hot pink and filled with zebra print and Hello Kitty accents. I still love HK and will always be a pink girl 💕 but it was def time for a change.

For my personal space I went back and forth with various ideas and color palettes. As much as I love a clean bright and white boho room filled with strictly neutrals, I knew I needed some color. After searching Pinterest I decided on an accent wall and loved the 2019 Pantone color, Forest Biome. In more detail it’s a blue-greenish color as I wanted something that combined the two hues. This color was perfect!😁

I found my paint color, titled Emerald Shore at Lowe’s and tested a sample before painting the entire wall. I fell in love with the color even more and decorated the rest of my room to complement my accent wall. I tied in other colors like a blush pink, whites and creams and a warm brown. One of my favorite new pieces is my sun mirror set from Etsy. Celestial pieces always catch my eye & just scream bohemian lol so I had to grab these mirrors. My space is still kind of a work in progress, but I love it and had to show my boho babes a glimpse! I’ll also be attaching some photos of my bedroom for you to see!

I hope you’ve learned something new and I can’t wait to see how you transform your space. And always! When in doubt add more plants lol. Feel free to send any pics or vids to us by email contact@shopverre.com or DM us on the gram! @shopverre . Don’t be shy! âœšđŸŒ»đŸŒŽ
